Take time to appreciate genuine actions

This past week I got a rejection letter from a part-time job application. I had read somewhere that it’s a good practice to say thank you to employers even if they give you a letter of rejection, and I thought this was a little rediculous. No matter how nuts it sounded, I tried it. I’m not sure what the outcome will be, but at least I made a stronger impression. It was the actual rejection letter itself that got me thinking. Some jobs don’t even write you a letter. If they do, they are often autogenerated. This guy said, “You were damn close to the interview and thank you for applying”. That real language spoke volumes about how genuine this representative is and it made me want to be real as well. I thanked them for consideration and asked them to keep me in mind for future opportunities. I did not let the fact of rejection keep me down, but rather saw the letter for what it was and recognized sincerety. EyeRoll4 the ability to step back and see the genuineness of the big picture.
