This past week in training, I had a different focus. Normally when I roll I go for the finish so I don’t have the opportunity to make a mistake and end up in a compromising position. This week I wanted to practice more defense, so when I got the opportunity for a finish I wouldn’t feel like it was now or nothing. I understand that I’m brining more of a crucial mind-set to this situation because it’s after all just a game, but I wanted to reinvent the way I approached my training. Due to this change, I learned some new wholes in my training that I need to work on. I also became more aware of the opportunities that my opponents opened for me. This training session taught me that there is value in switching up from what normally works for you. A whole lot of information can be gained from a different approach, and you are that much more stronger from this self-development. EyeRoll4 the ability to take lessons from new approaches.
