Why do less just because you have different goals?

The past couple of weeks of training, have been focused on competition training. JiuJitsu is often a melting pot of individuals with all different goals and reasons for training. The majority of the class participants are working towards winning their next tournament, so the training is intense. I am not focused on competing, but the game plan for the class is to work hard. When I see a game plan, I stick to it because I’m not going to work any less than the best. My Instructor told people that if they don’t meet the objective of the drill, they had to do push-ups. When I started, he told me to stop and I didn’t have to. I intentially didn’t listen because there was no reason why I shouldn’t work as hard as my able-bodied teammates. I am able to identify the hard-workers and I will be in line with the best of them. EyeRoll4 the ability to identify and stick to the game plan.
