Yesterday, as I scrolled through my Facebook memories, I couldn’t help but reflect on the growth that has taken place in the past couple of years. The memory that popped up was my belt promotion from 2 years ago. I am using this memory purely as a time-marker, but at the time I felt like I was entering a new role. In my self-proclaimed new role I was a leader. I felt that being a colored belt meant that others would look to me for example. This was all in my head. I have grown to learn that it is not your experience level or your personal status that makes you an example to follow. It all comes down to your confidence within yourself that you have the ability to set the standard and guide others through the positive actions you present. EyeRoll4 the ability to be the leader.
