Yesterday I wrote about slowing down to take in external observations/information to make your transformation/change easier. Today I would like to point out the internal information that we can gain when we slow down. The act of self-reflection is a valuable tool when it comes to bettering one’s self. It helps to take a second and think about the process and how this makes you feel. Now, for me this is not easy because I do not like to get in touch with my feelings, but it is best to sort out things before you just have a volcano ready to erupt. Ask yourself “What is working” or “What areas still need improvement”. It helps to reassess your progress during a task or process of change. If performed too quickly, there may be no room for reflection and errors may occur without explanation. Any task requires as much mental as it does physical work. In order to engage mental work, we must slow down and reflect on the process that is driving us forward. We can take in the external information that we gain and take inventory along with our thoughts we have reflected on to plan our next course of action to meet our goals. EyeRoll4 the ability to sort through and reflect to make adjustments towards success.
