The right type of criticism

Yesterday I wrote about the Haters and how to use their comments to fuel your drive towards success. I was reminded of a few things after I posted that I would like to share with you. It is in the metaphorical sense that I say “Tell them they’re wrong”. You can still be on a mission to prove someone wrong, but always be respectful if someone feels the need to put forth their 2 cents. They may also have a reason for putting their 2 cents into the conversation. What better way to figure out the reason than to ask questions. Being an active listener is something that I find is a very valuable skill to have. You can listen to someone, but further engaging and grasping what that individual is talking about can assist you on your way to success. Individuals may be assumed to be Haters, but if the right questions are asked that person may be a greater impact than you think. One thing that I’ve learned from JiuJitsu training is that things require time and patience, but when someone of more experience tells you something will not work, ask why and what adjustments should be made to achieve a similar outcome. Initially we may perceive being told that our idea may not work is criticism, but further probing/questioning may evolve into a form of constructive criticism. Listen and be aware of information that you can use to accomplish whatever tasks you set for yourself. EyeRoll4 the keys that I can take from others’ constructive critiques.
